Bound volume containing 22 of 24 designs for cartouches and wall decorations by Agostino Mitelli, from the first edition published by Agostino Parisini (Bologna, 1636). Interleaved are 16 additional prints from the second of two copied Paris editions, published by Claude Roussel. It is undated but subsequent to the first Paris edition of Pierre II Mariette (approximately 1655-57). See Fuhring. As the Roussel edition is printed on paper bearing watermarks of Thomas Dupuy, it probably appeared before Dupuy's death in 1731

The two plates that are wanting in the Getty copy of the original edition correspond to prints 15 and 16 of the second Paris edition

Getty copy bound in late 19th-century marbled paper, the back and corners in green calfskin. Spine tooled in gilt, with title "Architectur[e] / de / Mitelli" and date "anno / 1636" respectively on red and black leather labels. Page edges red. On front pastedown are the bookplates of A. Berard and Theodore Besterman, the latter signed P.S. (Percy John Smith?)
